Has anyone ordered EE's from MPC?

I had two from MPC hatched april 2010. One was the typical ee color/partridge and layed a medium green egg. She was the only chicken I have that was a bit wild and did not tolerate any handling. Unfortunately, I lost her to a hawk over thanksgiving.

the second one I still have and she lays 4-5 medium green eggs a week, including now, in the middle of a new england winter. She is a beautiful buff color and a little bit laced. This is a very tame hen and loves to sit on laps.

Here is a pic of a typical egg ( this was the first one...). Both started laying at about 20 weeks and both typically lay(ed) 4-5 per week once they started

and these pics are in the growing up dinosaur stage. The colors didn't change much, just became more vibrant.

I hope you get what you want ! I love mine so much that I ordered 2 more for spring (anticipation of new babies helps with the sting of the three hawk losses I had this fall!). I'm hoping for really fun colors and green eggs too!

Cabot,
I am so sorry for your loss of such a beautiful bird! I had 2 hawk attacks this year and would you believe they were foiled each time?I live about 3/4 of a mile from a eagle breeding center that rescues injured hawks etc...he let this one go from his house which he usually doesn't do.It hung around for days, tried twice to get my birds...actually causing some damage on one of them, but us running out of the house screaming all he got was fistfuls of feathers!LUCKY chickens! As for the pics....awesome..I guess it doesn't really matter what colors but I am hoping to add more color to the flock and a lot of mine are red or variations of reddish browns.BTW, I'm sooo jealous of that egg!!

Lol...spaghetti and white chickens....

I ordered one EE from MPC, and also a "random assorted rare breed" which I'm pretty sure is an EE. The first is the normal (and beautiful!) wild-type brown color. She is spunky but loves to be petted, extending her neck and actually letting me put my hand around it (a first for a chicken of mine!). The second is a splash color with a rose comb, no muff, but green legs (an EE tip-off). She's my favorite, and is probably the sweetest bird I've ever had. Today she tried flying after me as I left the coop to get them some water, and ended up over her head in a snowdrift

Both are very small, not bantam size but definitely smaller than the one other EE I've had.

Keep us updated about yours! I'm curious about your color assortment
