Has Anyone Raised Murray McMurray's Delaware Broilers?

2 females is not really enough to start a flock from, well it is but it just makes it harder to select for good traits.

So my thoughts are to get another batch of chicks from McMurray so I have enough to breed and look around for good quality stock to get eggs from to add new blood to the flock to the flock next fall. I am so tempted to order more this fall, as McMurrya has some at the last hatch of the season, but just moving to the new farm means I am limited until the pens and barns are built and will not have room.
If you are plan to add more, September would be a good time. By the time the winter hit, the chicks are old enough to handle the cold. And the hen will start laying in spring 2021.
I took different route. Since I do like to flavor of the White Bresse, I started Ixworth x Bresse cross recently. I have 19 chicks that hatched on 8/8/20 to start the project. They are healthy and vigor.

sapphire gem and dominant copper pullets 25 weeks old. 1x6 fence boards. Cockerel is 13 weeks old.

Uh-oh. Any particular reason he made the short list?
I got him as a rehome from city limits at 7-8 weeks old. He was so tame that first peck from pullets sent him flying to my shoulder for protection. I kinda had a feeling his upbringing would bite me in the butt.
Since then he’s flogged my legs twice.... today when I squatted down to check eggs, he came from behind and was all over my head.

I will now enjoy him with garlic salt and pepper.
