Has anyone seen this before?

I think I should have brought in a rose or buff comb on f3....

Then tried to bring in a CX from a different hatchery on f4...

Also keeping more birds in the beginning and better records of parentage might have helped...

I still think it is a worthwhile project. I just am too old to keep it going.

I did not realize how many would die in the first few years. I should have raised more initially. Keeping the offspring separated for the next year.

I also did not have enough to only breed them one year then process them.

I have an old hen, a pullet, two cockerels and a cock is all left.

Because of age related issues I have to get rid of all my birds.

so it does here unless someone comes and gets my birds.

I hope you kept good enough records, or can recreate enough notes, to pass the info on to someone else interested in the project. It may not be right away, but I'm sure there will be someone out there to carry on.
Getting old(er) sure does s(uck)tink. Every time these old knees fuss at me, I complain about it ... until I remember that growing old, especially in my family, is a privilege denied to many. Then I just suck it up and sigh ... while I complain!
