Has Anyone Seen this re: Homeschooling?

I got a HUGE SHOCK this past week while I had my GD here for Spring Break!

I found out that her school doesn't call the kids by their names...they give them numbers instead!
This is outrageous to me! That is what was done to the Jews in the concentration camps!! My son & GD's mother are divorced, and she has primary custody, my son works out of town, so they can't home-school her, but I can.
The only way we can do this is to have my GD come live with us, since we live about 40 miles apart.
She hasn't agreed to let me do this, but I can't stand the fact that my GD is a number, and all the school is teaching is for the TAKS test, and nothing else!
She has Dyslexia, and needs extra help to train her brain to "see" things correctly, and she is not getting this help. She has gone from an A-B Honor Roll student to almost failing in the past 3 months.

Is there a site where I can look at reasonably priced curriculum to teach her from? Or that I can print out for my use?
I'm in Texas and the laws are pretty lax about home-schooling, but I want my GD to have a good education.
We work on her math and reading every time she is here. She didn't even know that we were teaching her until this week, when I pointed it out to her.
We played dominoes and had her do all the counting and adding and score keeping. She was reading recipe's to me and we were cooking, so we were working on her reading comprehension.

When she is worked with she learns so quickly, but if left to herself to do a paper with problems on it, she gets so frustrated and gets a bad headache.

She has been raising her own chickens and rabbits for over 3 years now, and keeps records of them, the feed costs and her profit and loss.
She just can't grasp what they are teaching in school.

Ok, I have to get off my soap box now, Sorry I was so long-winded, it just upsets me so much.

I have searched on here and only found the abeka mentioned, but it is way too pricey for me to afford.

Any ideas will be appreciated.

I have the Robinson Curriculum and we love it. It is a 16 CD set for about 285 dollars. it goes from K-Sr High and college prep. I also like the teaching philosophy of the man who wrote it. It includes hundreds of printable books for reading, vocab flash cards and tests, math flash cards, and much more than that for the older years. The only thing to consider is this: You need a computer and printer for this. You need to print out the books (i do a chapter at a time) because reading from the screen is bad for her eyes. Also there are no Math Texts included. He recommends (and I use) Saxon. You can purchase a full year's homeschool kit from various websites for about 50-80 dollars. They are excellent texts. All the lessons are cumulative and they are designed for self teaching, which makes it easy for you to figure out and help with a lesson even if you don't remember it yourself.

Each day starts with a practice sheet of simple + - / or X problems. These are to be done in a time frame. Then the child reads the lesson and complets 25-30 problems. Each lesson is about 5 problems of new with 20-25 review of various lessons. This is far superior to the method of schools where you learn one thing this week, do a hundred problems of it and then don't see it again for a year. Every problem has a little reference number beside it to tell the child what lesson this was covered in, so if they are struggling they know exactly where to look for help. I highly recommend these.

I love the program for literature and vocab. It has very high quality classical novels and stories. If you go to the website you can read about the teaching philosophy. I know you said you GD needs additional help, but keep in mind no one can help her forever. This curriculum is geared toward teaching a child to teach themselves, which will do your GD wonders once you are able to wean her into a self-teaching mode. I also am in TX, and would be happy to chat with you about any q's you have.

I warn you that while I agree with the basic philosophy Robinson has on the order of education and self-teaching, he is a bit overboard on his strictness. I am not attempting to raise an egg-head or anything, lol. You'll understand if you check out the site:
