6 week Australorp - potential blockage?

Try vitamin E 400iu. If you can try to get her to eat a little soft boiled egg, it will speed up the absorption of the E.

That poor little gal has sure been through a lot. So have you.

That she recovered from the seizure, tough, should be a sign of hope.

I don't see the value in an antibiotic at this time unless she's showing signs of respiratory problems.
Thank you so much!! I will give that a shot. Do you recommend the Vitamin E dose once each day?

No other seizures since I last wrote. Hopefully that is a good sign of improvement!

Yes. Give one 400iu capsule directly into her beak, and let her swallow it whole. Do that once a day for the next three or four days.

Giving sugar water is a very good idea as it will give her brain a much needed shot of glucose, and maybe that can head off any more seizures.

Do you have any CBD oil on hand? Give her some. It's also very good to calm seizures.

I'm picking up the vitamin E tomorrow AM and will see if I can grab CBD oil then as well. A friend suggested the same earlier today. Worth a shot!

I've given her some sugar water. Hopefully we'll get through the night quietly and restfully, and tomorrow I'll do whatever I can to get her feeling good with a nice appetite back!

Thank you again and again for all the advice and I'll send an update!

There were no more seizures after the evening I last wrote. I'm so relieved that Dolly looks perkier and is finally drinking water on her own again this afternoon. Hopefully food is soon to follow and some nice strong strides on the road to recovery! I will continue to support her with additional liquids and nutrients and maybe she'll finally put this one to bed.

She even almost ate a rolypoly bug she found in the grass - took one peck at it, then seemed to catch herself; "Wait, I'm still a lil too sick for allathat!"

But great signs that she is back on the upswing! Thank you all so much for your help bringing Dolly so far from where she was that awful night almost a week ago!

Glad to hear Dolly is doing well! <3 Looking real cute too! I don't have much info to contribute here (as a newbie chicken mother), but I know how difficult it can be to figure out what's wrong with the clock ticking, especially if your vet is giving you questionable advice. Good job on seeking help here and doing your research. Paid off! Hope dolly continues to grow stronger

My heart dropped a bit when I saw the pictures of Dolly. She looks exactly like my black australorp chick, Tokay, who passed away just 2 days ago due to a similar problem. She was listless, not eating or drinking, and throwing up. Gave her antibiotics but couldn't save her. Kudos to you and to Dolly for pulling through! Well wishes
