Its an idea and probably a lot cheaper! The only down fall is that I do enjoy eating and I would have to cut a small hole so I could drink my Dr. Pepper!

i am also about to give up using patches & lozenges but i am waiting till i move as every one here smokes so it will be easier once i move.

Bought step 1. Cut them in half. Wore half patch for 13 days but knew first thing on the first morning that I was not going to smoke. I think the patch helped, but it was the ernest prayer that did it. Best wishes to everyone!

I did well on the patch. I found I needed to put the new one on before bed so I wasn't craving too badly in the morning.(I had no dream issues) The physical craving was the worst part. I quit for 1 month and then foolishly thought I had a handle on the addiction. I decided I could smoke just one on thursdays during my favorite show...then two on thursdays...and the downward spiral began. You have to tell yourself that you are done forever...no exceptions. Good luck!

I quit about 8-9 years ago on the patch. Loved the dreams. It took a long time (10 years), then one day I just put them down and quit. Best thing I ever did for myself.
My current employer is drug testing for nicotene. Smoke and you won't get hired.

The only thing that has ever stopped me from smoking is to get prego. That's cuz I would have felt like a loser to risk my babies health. I did pick the habit back up after my daughters birth.

But I have never smoke inside my house, it's the cold/hot outside for me. I'm trying chantix right now and I've been on it for 8 days. I have slowed down some but I'm still smoking. Stay strong and I hope you kick the habit!

I used the patch and did it faithfully for the entire program and added another step. I took the lowest dose patch and cut it in half, so after the week on the lowest dose I went to the half patch until I was forgetting to put it on. Then I just kept on chewing gum. Lots and lots of gum. That was back in 2002 and I still haven't smoked and cannot abide cigarette/cigar/pipe smoke at all. I had an allergic reaction to Welbutrin, so couldn't do that, but before I had the rash it seemed to help too.

If you're on the patch, NO MORE SMOKING! You can kill yourself and you won't quit.
