has anyone used live grass as the bottom for their brooder box?

I am thinking of going into the back yard and get some grass, a big enough piece to cover the bottom of my tote. I am currently using a 65 watt grow light as their heat source anyway, so i figure the grass will grow, give them something to snack on, they will fertilize it.... Any thoughts?

Also today was their first day eating worms Yummy they were scared at first but one got brave then they all wanted them.

That would be extremely hard to keep clean. Poop takes quite awhile to break down into the grass. It would be virtually impossible to get all the poop out. Plus the chicks would probably destroy it long before it grew.
