So do Sheba Inus. when they see or catch a rat that is the first place that they return to the next time they have the run of the place. I heard a story about a Jack Russel terrier when they first started showing up on these shores. A horse person was holding a riding crop while he judged a horse show. Jack Russel terriers are suckers for movement and suddenly his riding crop felt like it had gained 10 pounds, but the extra weight was only a Jack Russel terrier holding on for dear life while it swung between heaven and Earth while trying to kill a piece of leather. Game, gritty little dogs those Jack Russel terriers. I am unsure which is the gamest or grittiest, a Jack Russel Terrier whose forte is pulling live foxes out of den holes business end first or the 20 pound Sheba Inu who is bred to hunt bears and wild boars. I respect both of these little dogs but neither breed does well in the hands of someone less motivated than the dogs to get their way.
