Yes! I much rather tumble weeds!! Just scoop em up! That’s how Cocker Spaniel fur is... :love

@BigBlueHen53 I think it says a lot that the people are willing to drive four hours to meet you... says to me that they care about where their dog goes...

Lol, tumbleweeds! Gracie's fur does that! Yes, @WhoDatChick , exactly. The site indicated that this dog had been viewed nearly 50 times. But... everybody wants a puppy ... not me, though! To me it was an advantage that this boy is house-trained. That he has some basic training, is socialized, knows a few hand signals. I don't mind skipping the puppy training, lol!

They were happy to hear he will be a family pet living mostly indoors... that I have been a trainer of basic obedience ... that my best friend is also Gracie's groomer... that there is a young boy who will play with him ....

Can't wait til Sunday! :ya

I’ve been so torn between Aussie, Golden, Lab, or Poodle for my next dog lol there’s many many other breeds I want but those are probably the top 4. Oh and English Shepherd.

I think I’m strongly leaning towards a Golden though. They are just such sweet, sweet dogs. :love

But hopefully I can find one with a little bit more moderate coat that doesn’t have a whole lion’s mane. :lau

The Aussie coat I think is even worse though haha and Labs. Labs shed SOOO much. We’ve had them too. Their fur get down in EVERYTHING too! :sick At least with Goldens the fur tumble weeds.

Check out the Kooikerhondje. Aka Dutch Duck dog. Especially if you have ducks.

I personally like White german shepards.. I have one named molly, she is very good and VERY trainable. Taught her lay down in -2 days, taught her sit in 1 day, I taught her a new trick to run between my legs for a treat (saw it on youtube) She knows sad, pray, paw, jump, and nose, which is putting her nose in between my fingers (circle shaped) I taught her these tricks when she got older since she was more hyper as a younger dog, she is 7 now I believe and is still very hyper but is very smart. WGS are also very loveable and VERY protective dogs, she will nip you if you tickle someone she knows and she is good around my cats and ducks (besides wanting to play with them all the time and them getting annoyed!) They are good farm dogs but she has never been trained not to kill our animals. Good thing she hasn't (isn't my pick i'm not on my phone RN so I don't have picks of her, It's from google)

Thanks, @KDOGG331! That would be a great way to meet dog people and breeders, I agree. Unfortunately we don't go to dog shows, I just didn't think of that. My guess is the best breeders probably show at St. Louis, kind of a long drive from us. Also, a lot of these events take place on Saturdays, which is our church day.

You're right about wiring money, that wouldn't happen at all, at all! This is a pay on the spot deal. We get the dog, they get their money. Shake hands, good-bye.

I am not sure how PuppyFinder makes their money, possibly by ads on their web site. They are not exactly brokering the deal as I thought they might. We are not meeting through them as fas as I know. Other than helping connect buyer and seller, they seem to be out of it entirely. It's interesting. I'll keep y'all posted.
They make their money by caring breeders, they pay extra to put dogs on the website, only people who will pay puppyfind can see the details and pics of the dog.

Your Molly sounds awesome! :frow

Hmmm. I did not have to pay anything to see the pics of the dog I was interested in. Maybe the seller had to pay a fee to post their dog and his pics and description?

I have Shelties too(my username lol). I show them in AKC agility. If the rescue does not work out with puppy finder I can recommend reputable breeders for you.
I see you are from MO and I used to be from
Ooh! Yes, we definitely need to connect on that! I may not need a puppy myself, but when people see my Gracie, they ask about her. People do not know what a Sheltie is, they think she is beautiful and amazing and have usually never seen one before. Also, I suspect Sunny may make a good agility dog, he seems to be high energy from the video they sent me. Thanks!
I see you are in MO. I started doing agility in STL, but moved south 5 years ago. Bella Rose is a lovely kennel in Mo. All parents and puppies are health tested. Small kennel.
Here are my two. Shelties are very high energy and also very vocal! I let every know When they say they would like one just how vocal lol!
