Really good question not word one so far

Sorry, we were really busy last night, got home about 8 pm, busy again today....

It went pretty well and I want to tell y'all all about it! But I just got back from a run to town, have to switch out the laundry, go get the kid off the bus, and toss something together for dinner! :barnie:th
I will say this ... Sunny is not a calm, well-socialized animal! He is nervous and high-strung and acts, frankly, like a dog that has spent his life in a kennel. That said, he is going to be perfect for us! I'll explain later. He is sweet and gentle. Does not bark, but startles at EVERYTHING. He ate, drank and pooped today. Is currently lying on my foot. We'll be fine. He needed us!

Nope not one tiny bit of Akita in that sweet girl.

Poor little guy. Everything is big and new and scary and confusing all at once.
I am really glad he found you and you him. I always feel bad for the ones that are so scared. I know your house will be a great place for him. He will learn a lot from Gracie too.

These first few weeks though. :th

I have been looking on line for another Sheltie, and found one. Not a puppy. This neutered male is 16 months old and his story is that he belongs to an older couple that feels they can't fairly meet his needs. I think there may be health issues. In the couple, not the dog. He is young and active.

The connection is through PuppyFinders. Has anyone done business with them, or have any knowledge or opinions of them?

I will say that the cost is extremely reasonable. We have been exchanging emails. The distance is considerable but they are willing to meet us half way, about a 4-hour drive for both parties.

My Sheltie, a 10-yo spayed Sheltie, is slowing down a bit with arthritis and has a (hopefully benign) tumor that probably needs to be removed soon due to its location. Realizing that I won't have her forever, I started thinking about ... well... getting her an "apprentice" and making sure I won't be without a Sheltie when The Time comes, even though, hopefully, she may have several good years left. The new dog will also make a companion for our boy who at the moment has literally nobody but us. Me and DH.

Anyway, I was wondering what, if anything, y'all might be able to tell me about PF.com. Thanks.
I've used PetFinder.com, successfully. Another recommendation is to let your local vets know that you're looking. They see an awful lot of people and pets, and may be able to hook you up.
