She thought about snarling at him. But he is so ... what's the word? Inoffensive, maybe? That's not quite it. It's as if he is inherently incapable of even comprehending what a snarl even is. He's just totally unresponsive to that. She can't get him to come to the dark side because there is no darkness in him.

Back in 2015 I found my Pembroke Welsh Corgi through PuppyFind. We did not have him shipped to us though. They were about 2 hrs away so we drove to him and saw what conditions he was kept in, etc. Overall I have had a good experience, but I do remember speaking with some other people on there that were clearly scammers; speaking broken English, requesting money before even sending us pictures and paperwork, etc. I have also been told to be aware of puppy mills, which is another reason why I'm glad we were able to go see his living conditions and pick him up in person.

It was actually the owners that brought him. They had to drive 4 hours, too! We got his AKC papers so we can register him in our names. And all his medical records. I think it's all good. No pics of the parents, though. He's definitely pet quality, not show or breeding, which is fine.

Sorry, "noodled" came from a child I once knew. I hoped you guys would figure it out. I don't think a dog that's been "noodled" is going to be doing much "canoodling!" And that's all I'm gonna say about that!

So .... remember I said he shut down her barking with a look? Well ... okay, we have what I call a cat flap that goes from the kitchen to the back porch, and another from the back porch to outside. They make kind of a snap sound when the animals go through. And Gracie ALWAYS barks when she hears it, like it's some new, unfamiliar sound. We have two cats so this happens frequently.

Well, today one of the cats came in, Gracie was at my feet, and she looked up but DIDN'T SAY A WORD! I was like, Seriously? Who ARE you, and what have you done with my Gracie????

No darkness? Somebody named that little guy perfectly ... even if it just becomes his nickname! We had an old orange cat like that. He got along just fine with the world, "thank you very much," as long as it just let him be. Dogs would run up to him barking their fool heads off, and he'd just sit down and look at them. It always stopped them dead in their tracks, confused as all get-out. He was ever tolerant and completely unimpressed!

16 mo., @aart. The Kid is 13. But I'll tell you why this is a match made in heaven. The Kid is ADHD and a little autistic. Add to that our isolation out here. He has no social contacts outside of school with kids his own age. Thank God, he loves to read, but he needs interaction with a living being other than his grandparents. We're a couple of fuddy-duddies! Booo-ring! This dog - not just "a" dog, as in "any" dog, is just what he needs. And I already have Gracie. This dog needs HIM. This dog needs lots of hands-on, petting, stroking, cuddling, loving. And so does This Kid. This kid, who can't bear to be touched. This dog will break those barriers for this kid. Look back at that pic of the Kid and the dog. What do you see? Touching. Cuddling. Stroking. THIS dog. THIS kid.

I once had a rough Collie named Sammy. I keep trying to remember to call this little guy Sunny, but Sammy keeps popping out. The Kid says he likes Sammy better too. I think sometimes animals let you know what their name is.... yeah, I'm a weirdo, I know.
