Has Frontline NOT worked for anybody else?

Frontline just didn't work for our dog. We have 10 acres and she would go exploring in the woods and come back with fleas and lots of ticks. We switched to Advantix and what a difference. We have noticed when the ticks are really in season I have to be right on time for the dosing. Advantix works for us and took care of the problems.

As an owner of a dog with dry skin and coat I figured this one out. Frontline does nothing on him, which is unfortunate since he has a very heavy double coat. I've resigned myself to having to check him for ticks several times a day as we are infested with ticks here. For some reason fleas are not an issue. Not that I'm complaining about that.

I have tried Frontline, Frontline Plus, Advantage, and Advantix with no luck this year.

Has anyone tried sprinkling DE around their property?

It works fine for me - but i have two friends who have had issues with it working this year - they both switched to Revolution and have had no problems

Fleas can get somewhat "resistant" to medicine over time, so usually trying new things work. I think it's time for the market to release some new ones, actually they have released one new one called Vectra, but I haven't tried it yet to see if it works...

I also find that Frontline Plus is no longer working. I keep using it on my cat, but she still has fleas. Now the dog has fleas and it's like a flea circus around here. I haven't had fleas in the house in over 10 years and now they're everywhere. I'm told by my sister(a pet groomer)that it's all about treating the house AND the pets. You can kill the fleas off an animal using a shampoo or whatever, but the fleas don't always live on the pet. They live in the house and only jump on the pet to feast then go lay their eggs so you have to use something on the pet that will keep the fleas from laying the eggs and kill them off the furniture.

I'll be using a flea bomb really soon, but I've been looking for something to use on the dog and the cat before I set off the bomb. A bath isn't working because the furniture is infested. *shivers at the thought* It's funny that I find this post after losing my top over the Frontline Plus not working anymore. I just thought it was me. It's nice to have validation!

Ditto. I thought for sure that I was doing something wrong. I was applying it correctly and at the right time, so I was baffled by the fleas. That's why I waited so long to call my vet. I was relieved when they told me that it was happening to other people, and there was another solution. So far so good on the Comfortis.

I have put Frontline on my GSD last week and he is COVERED in ticks - full ones - This has never happened in the past, maybe he's just built up a resistance to it, but it's awful to see him scracthing

Thinking about Revolution..................

We're at our wits end with fleas this year. I've treated my dogs TWICE with Frontline Plus since we first noticed them, and they're still there. I just talked to my vet, and she said that I'm not the first person to call with this complaint this year. She suggested we try a pill called Comfortis, but it's going to cost $16 per dog per month. Has anybody else experienced this? Does anybody know why Frontline Plus has always worked in the past, and this year it doesn't? I think I'm going to pick up the pills tomorrow and see if I can get some relief for my two itchy dogs.
Costco has good prices on nexguard and revolution, might check their price on comfortis. Am using Frontline now but have an Rx for revolution if it fails.
