Thanks, it is cheaper there, I buy mine by Bonita, maybe I can do some shopping if I go up north one of this days or someone from that area can get a bag or 2 for me when we have our San Diego meeting again.

I buy up here in Julian. I fed unmedicated starter and it was the only place for me to find it. "Kahoots" in Ramona sells the lay pellets for about the same price. They sell starter mash too but it's medicated.

Where are you in E. KY? It seems like you aren't too far from me? (Adair Co.).
The feed store I go to is a bit high on cracked corn ($13.50/100#), whole corn is a little cheaper at (I think) $12.50/100#, or 'ground' corn is $10 (something) for 100#. Layer pellets are $15.40/100# and it is 20% protein, layer crumbles are 16 or 19% protein and of comparable price.

This is a feed store on the west side of Liberty KY. It's a mennonite store, the name is Goldenrod Feed.

Whoa. I feel lucky - $6.25 for 50# of lay mash, $8.25 per bale for alfalfa #2, and $6.50 per bale for bermuda grass. Then there is all the veggies I buy the birds and apples I buy the horses.....

Chicken food costs here are pretty high.

Flock Raiser (what I feed mostly) is $17-18 per 50# bag, and scratch is about $10-12 for a 50# bag. If I recall correctly, Layer is around $14-15 per 50# bag.

I was paying $6.50 for 50# of cracked corn & $8.50 for layer from my local mill. I found another mill that charges $6 CC & $8 for a livestock feed with molasses(same protein as the layer). I mix the 2 & everybody from the chicks to the goat is happy with it. Now if I could only find a quality rabbit feed for under $16 a 50#.
