Hatch-a-long Countdown!!!

I'm sorry to hear about the blood ring. Did you remove it from the 'bator? I removed one yesterday

I'm glad your other eggs are doing fine, and it's perfectly normal for some eggs to be less active than others. Sometimes they sleep in the eggs, so if they aren't moving now, check again in a few hours. What's the highest that the humidity has gotten? If it gets too high during misting, I wouldn't mist.

I'm so sad but I understand it happens. Yes, I did remove it from the 'bator and had to remove a yolker today!! I didn't consider that my less active duckies are sleeping... how cute! When I mist, the humidity goes to about 63% and I quickly whoosh the air out (I believe the program director said we "whoosh" the air to let the carbon dioxide out from the ducks in the eggs or something to that affect). I was also told to mist the duck eggs daily from Day 7 to Day 25. Hmmm... ???

Oh no, what's wrong with the one?

I'm not really sure. There's some veins in there and red blobs, but it looks so weird. There are also dark red streaks. It looks to me like bacteria maybe? I haven't taken it out of the 'bator yet because I think I see movement sometimes. I didn't really think this egg would start to grow because it's small and the air cell is so messed up. Tomorrow is day 13, so on day 14 I'll remove it maybe if it doesn't look alive.

I just candled all of the eggs and all have movement. Some have red blotches in them, but I'm not sure what that could be. Most air cells grew, but several were the same size. I guess because they arrived here with big and wacky air cells.

16 out of 16 eggs seem to be developing (well, actually, 16 out of 17 because I removed a blood ring several days ago) :) My broody duck is sitting on 5 eggs and only 2 seem to be developing for her, but that's better than none, right?

That's sounding like good news! I went into my school today to candle my eggs... all 6 are good to go! I had 8 but one was a yolker while the other didn't develop.. I had a blood ring. I am VERY nervous about hatching. What if they don't hatch on a weekday? How do I know if they're okay? What if the humidity drops overnight after I go home. I'm planning on having starbucks while I a till at work til 6pm everynight during lockdown. Sigh.
