Hatch a long during the month of July

Last day of July and hope everyone had good hatches or current hatches are doing well. We had a total of 18 chicks hatch with one that didn't make it. So, now a brooder with 17 chicks total.

I went out to collect my eggs and my broddy was sitting on the WRONG eggs! How long can a xhicken be off the nest? I dont think it was to long.

in my experience, that happens frequently. When I have broodies, I try to collect at least twice a day to prevent. I've had eggs not sat on for half a day hatch just fine.
