Hatch-A-Long (May-June)

I'm joining in if that's ok with all of you . I'm set 2 1/2 dozen eggs on the 20th of May. I'm hatching out the eggs for friends so I'm hoping for a decent hatch. I'm doing a dry hatch since I've had amazing success in the past doing this. Of course, I have only hatch in Spring and it's humid here in Clarke County VA this time of the year. I also have the eggs sitting up in cartons with whole in each bottom of the egg holder. Again, I've had great success with this. Temps have been steady! I'm a logging junky

I keep info from turning, to temps, humidity, hatch rate... etc.

How are you all hatching? How are things going so far? Does anyone keep a log with each hatch?

This is my first hatch but yes. I'm keeping a log. My duck eggs are dwindling fast. But all my chickens should hatch thus Saturday

15 chicken eggs set. 1/2 fresh and 1/2 were in the fridge meant for eating. ALL 15 made it to lock down (Today) was not expecting this! Cant wait to see who has been kicking around in those shells!
14 are mixed mutts and one is a Banty (Suspect it is a OEGB).

That is so awesome!!! I hope that you have a great hatch! Keep us updated!

I like to do logs with mine too. I make it look like a calendar and I leave enough room to add comments such as canceling, ones that died, or any temp spikes. The last time I tried to hatch it helped me because it made me realize when the chicks probably died.... sadley it was my fault :,( I have one for each egg so that way I can have individual comments for each. So many ideas on charting! I Mark my Calendar as well as Mark a notebook with number of corresponding egg. I can Mark movement, development, or suspected quitters etc

First time incubating. I have shipped eggs, bantam WC polish, bantam silver laced polish, one bantam bearded buff polish and LF Ameracauna. I set them 5/11 so due to hatch 6/1. I started with 15 total, one quit around day 7. All the rest are looking good with movement and veins, except the bbpolish looks different but I swear I see movement so I am leaving it and hoping! I started with a borrowed LG...but read way to much and freaked out thinking none would hatch, so I bought a Brinsea Mini Eco and transferred 10 into it on day 4. 4 still in the
LG.

Hi all! I have a homemade incubator... the first hatch I did was pretty good, ended up with 4 B.O. but the last one I did none of them got past the first week. I didn't have a thermostat and Ithink it got too hot :( well, Iwent and got a water heater thermostat and it's working PERFECTLY! I set 8 millie, 5 EE, and 6 B.O. on May 15th. I candled them last night and saw the exciting little blobs dancing! It feels like Christmas :)
