Hatch-A-Long (May-June)

Well I got rid of all by blood ring eggs yesterday.... I didn't see any development in them except for one but it was dead, however their were two I didn't crack open because I wasn't completely sure so we'll see as time progresses. Thank you for your help! :)

. AvianEgo, congrats on an amazing hatch! They are all adorable.

My temps have been horrible. I think our weather here in VA can't figure out what season it want's to stay in. One day it's 90 degrees and the following day it's in the low 60. This has made my incubator go wacky. I candled some on day five and out of the ones I candled, most I could see veining and a chick! I will be candling on Wednesday, which will be day 10 for the eggs, hopefully the temp mishaps didn't throw the eggs off to much.

yep! That's how it had been here in Minnesota too. I've been driving myself crazy trying to keep temps right. The chickens did well but i still have ducks in the bator

I candled my eggs, day 5 and I have one that when I turn it while candling a dark blob floats around. In another I can see the air sack moving. No blood ring in either one. I know the air sack one is a goner, but the dark blob??? Fist time incubating, I see veins in all the others

How big is the dark blob? It could possibly be the yolk. Picture?

If the air sac is moving, it is probably just a detached air cell. Is it developing? If so, then it is not a goner. It just needs to be incubated upright.

I have a few with a dark blob too I don't know what it is but I'm going to leave them In to see what happens. I just hope they don't explode, I smell them each everyday just to be sure.

Egg#1

blob moves from end to end, didn't see veins

egg #2

. The top looks like a double yolk??? Didn't see veins in this one either

Mine don't quite look like this. A few of the blobs do move around though. For me they have become so dark it's hard to tell if there's veins or not but maybe as they develop it will be easier to tell. In picture two for you if you have shipped eggs it could be a deformed air cell, I can't tell if its the round end or not but that's a possibility.
