Hatch A Long - Mythology (Redo) BBS (Black/Blue/Splash)

You’re going to have so many marans my friend. Are you starting a breeding project with all these different lines?
Also are we allowed to pick another egg from this second lot if we have a first one?
Long term I'm planning on tagging all the lines separately as they grow and do a BBS line with some 1st Gen OE/EE's.

I finished my NPIP last month so goal is long term to be doing a solid line for BBS (with good genetics), and breed towards the SOP, and I'm going to work at either doing hatching eggs/maybe babies later in the year or next year at the earliest once I have the lines sorted.

Trying to do this is a part time thing on top of my normal job :) lol.

How many separate lines do you /will you have of pure marans?

Also I’ll take G as Queen Medb (Maeve).

I will have 4 total technically.

My OG Line Meyers (Sapphire)
Cedar Hills (Ruby)
TX Farm from Greenfire - (Emerald)
Nichol's County (TN) - (Opal)

I was thinking of just calling the lines different gems idk if that's normal but at least I can do some tracking leg band wise so I can track good genes etc. I'm probably going to end up separating out the lines at least 2/2 maybe meyer's w/ nichol's and cedar + green fire.

I have 0 experience with BBS, plenty with wheaten and BCM so will be an experience :)

With that many different lines a clan breeding set up might be useful. That’s if you have four different pens for four clans.

Also just checking by BBS you mean Black, Blue and Slash Copper Marans?

Yeah my wife will probably hurt me if I add more then one more coop atm.

We are finishing up our goose coop and the plan is to have a secondary coop further down the road.

Yes Blue Black Splash specifically.

So don't want to jinx it, but all but one have developed LOL.

Dry hatch 20-40% (humidity up here has been wicked bad this past week) seems to be a real winner for these dark shells.

@ValkerieGunn #14 sadly never developed so if you want to pick a new one :)

@wrathsfarm I blame you for this mess .

The first 13 are in lock down and all have excellent air cells (crossing fingers). Estimate hatch by this saturday or round about.

The other 24 are set to hatch on May 15th (estimated), development looks good with only one looking questionable.
