Yes i started with the two lights at the top and my water pan at the bottom and couldnt get the humidity up as much as i wanted and the bottom rack would be about 1 degree cooler than the top rack so i added the heating element at the bottom and put a rack over it and set my water pan on the rack.. now mt temp is more even and the water pan gets warmer which causes more humidity and it also serves as kinda of a heat sink so it doesnt cycle as often..

After seeing all the little fuzz butts in recent photos...decided to get out the LG and set another 115 eggs!

Definitely going to have to build a cabinet model soon...Six Shooter, ya got any room down at your place for more birds?

My dad dropped off a 4ft x 8ft metal box today with a expanded steel bottom, I am thinking of hatching out a couple hundred and using it for a grown out pen

lol I know where your coming from, I still have chickens in my dining room because their brooder outside isnt done yet, I have 6 baby silkies ranging from 1 week to 1 month in a rubbermaid brooder, 7 quail that are two days old, 24 more quail eggs in the incubator, 17 jumbos in a possible trade, and eggs stacking up by the incubator that are just wanting to go in the incubator lol
