Hatch-A-Long with Ms. H's Class- Set on 4/7

Hello Clutchfolk!

My class and I are setting eggs today, and will be posting pictures, discussing development and sharing our fluffy results in 3 weeks. Anyone who is setting 4/7 through 4/9 and wants to share info and pictures with us on this thread, you are formally invited to join us!

Ok, everyone. Here is the official list of the 24 we are hatching:

6 Silver-laced Wyandottes
6 Olive Eggers (3 mostly Blk/Copper Maran, 3 mostly Wheaten Americana)
3 Blue/Black Isbars
3 Lavender Orpingtons
3 Black/Copper Marans
2 Wheaten Marans
1 Lavender English Orpington (that lay a very light blue egg)

I'll post pictures of them soon, but they were set last night 4/7 at about 10:30pm.
So far all is well, but I can't seem to get my temperature stable since I lifted the lid to put all of the eggs in. In search of more reliable thermometers and hygometers

I candled today, day 2, and saw encouraging floating yolk spots that could mean that almost all of my eggs are fertile!

I have had trouble with temperature, but it seems like we are stable now, and were only fluctuating a bit on the first day (up to 104 possibly). I was up to 4 thermometers at once today, and decided to narrow it down to the most accurate 3. I'm sure that this is paranoia, but I can't help it

A few questions that I have for you all:

1) I will need to tag the chicks somehow when I move them from the incubator. What are some good ways? Is there anything that I shouldn't use?

2) How high is too high? I read 106 somewhere, but can someone confirm that for me?

3) Is there a cure for this obsession with hatching that I've lovingly nicknames "chicken maddness" or have I opened up Pandora's box (more like Pandora's ellipsoid
