We talked about quail and he says they are too much work. Pheasants we need a permit that I am not willing to get. So I lucked out with him.
He encourages it cause he knows it is the easier way to get certain lines into our flock. Once I have the breeding huts built and set up we will be getting me Dorkings again. like 10 hens and 2 cockerels. We are trying to pick the other breeds. He likes Orpintons and Ameracuanas. I like Brahmas, Faverolles, and Langshans. We both want Jersey Giants. I am thinking we will end up with Jersey Giants, Orpingtons, and Brahmas.
Oh nice...I would like some Brahmas. Nice dual purpose birds!

With 6 minions that eat everything they can, we need the big birds for the table. It takes 2 or 3 depending on growth spurts birds to feed the minions. The husband and I may get a bite of meat if we have growth spurts going and that is with potatoes and two vegetables and biscuits being served. There was one growth spurt where the husband and I had to sneak in the middle of the night to get a sandwich to split. We could not keep them full. All 6 of them grew an inch or more in the two-month time frame. 2 am and he made a PB&J sandwich and split it with me. At meals no matter how much I cooked we never got more than a mouthful. LOL

Don't blame ya... He's lucky he got the pound option after that...

He is my moody boy. He is super bright but plays dumb and it makes him moody cause he plays dumb for everybody. Being the younger twin he is compared to his twin all the time. He is the brains and his twin is the brawn. He is shorter and smaller framed than his twin and people ask how they can be twins. I often have to walk away from people cause I have the Irish temper and I am protective as a mama bear with my boys.

Oh I get ya there... Wait till they're teens... I swear they don't ever get full, they just get tired of chewing...:lau

I have twin brothers, 14 years younger than me and a set of twins nieces... I know how that goes! And the Irish and Italian/Jewish in me does the same!:lau:highfive:

I am a mutt. 1/2 Celtic and Nordic, and the rest is a mix of Eastern European Jewish, Iberian, North African, and Middle Eastern. The fun I had with the genetic testing part of pregnancy. They had to test me for everything. The doctor looked at the forms and went "well they are going to be busy in the lab" lol
