New Incubator arrived. 13 chicken, 8 ducks, and 7 turkey eggs were transferred to the new incubator. Everything is looking good. One more week and I will see how many chickens hatch

Has anyone had twins successfully? I have a large egg that I see two embryos and I was just wondering if both will survive! Got two weeks left before expected hatching.

A few years ago I saw something about somebody doing it with success. It is rare though from what I have found.

Today is day 19 for incubator eggs and day 20 for broody hen eggs. Checked on hen and heard internal piping. about 12:30 pm. Checked incubator and also heard piping. Stole the broodies eggs and put them in the incubator. as of 4;PM one broody chick has external pip and 2 in incubator have external holes and getting bigger. ;0 I MAY have some chicks this evening. They were suppose to hatch tomorrow and Easter Sunday. Will see how many make it. Several are Easter Eggers and rest are mixed Buff Orpington, Barred Rock. Anyone Else piping yet? Hope hope I get lots of pullets.:fl

I did my last candling on this batch of shipped eggs in my incubator last night. I removed all of the eggs that weren't going to make it into my lock-down on Monday. I also removed the turner and laid the eggs on their sides in there. So now all that I have to do on Monday is increase the humidity and keep the lid closed.

Well.. I had a surprise! Walked into my chicken coop... CHICKS! My broodies were interrupted and chased off their nests so much, I thought all the eggs had died. Plus, they weren't due to hatch until Monday if they were even alive. Apparently I missed a clutch of eggs somewhere! 3 beautiful mixed breeds. They appear to be Belgian Quails + Silkies, as they have fluffy heads and extra toes. :) My incubated eggs go on lockdown this Easter Sunday!

Just passed Day 14 yesterday and everything looks pretty good! I removed about 5 eggs which looked like they weren't fertilized.
Of course, I have a chicken problem, so I also picked up 6 Ameraucanas from my local Agway, and 8 from my local Tractor Supply, along with the meaties that we have... I am rationalizing this by telling myself that my Ameraucanas were getting really inbred and that I was worried that the ones I have in the incubator wouldn't hatch... :jumpy
DH just sighs and says that at least we'll have some good cook outs this summer.

Love your Rationale! Sounds like something I would do. :bow And They are great reasons...
Our new TSC had no EE's or Ameraucanas. So hoping all these EE eggs I am hatching will be al least half pullets. so far, 30 out of 58 have hatched. (Some are Buff Orpington crosses)

My hatch it done. 41 out of 58 set hatched,(live).
Problems; 6 not fertile, 2 external pips, but both stopped without zip, died in shell. 1 hatched but died, had intestines out. 1 malpositioned, died in shell no pip. 8 others, formed, no pips, dead in shell. :hitEquals about a 71% hatch rate. :celebrateI think anyway. Math may be a little off.
