Hatch-Along - Eggs set in November, due December, anyone?

Congrats on your real egg

Their eggs get bigger as their bodies get used to doing what it does best and the small eggs are referred to as pullet eggs, she will be a pullet until she reaches age one year then she will become a hen. I think out of the batch that hatched close to Hope I only have 2 girls, that would mean 7 boys, I hope I'm wrong but some I really can't tell what they are yet. Maybe the 17 newly hatched ones I will get more girls.

I hope too! And Hope laid another egg today, and it is almost as big as the grocery store eggs! Still pale brown. My mom dropped it on the ground and it cracked!!!

Her hip bones are only two of my tiny fingers width apart. Aren't they s'posed to be three?

Well my bannie hen got one chick to hatch, all of her other eggs rolled away and broke, I went on the roof to get the chick and it is a healthy little thing, remember my plan "A", to have bannie hen take care of my other chicks which are about 1 week ahead of this one, well she is mean to them I had to separate her and her chick, she terrified the others they were huddled up in the corner trying to get as far away from her as they could. Oh well it was a good plan,

Congrats on the egg laying, and I can tell I only have 2 hens out of the 9 I hatched in Dec.

. I hope I get more hens out of this batch of 17, oh and I got my 2 turkeys too, way too soon to tell what they are the are they are 2 weeks ahead of my 17 but all get along great in their brooder.

and my chicki wikkies.... they are shifted to a new place too, a very better one, the update pics:

this poor child got sick, and has some problem in her crop, I tried the apple cider vinegar but she had to be slaughtered (I am a muslim, if she would have died then we couldn't eat her)

this brown one (with permanent moulting) is one of the mothers

Welcome back Candyman, I don't blame you I wouldn't eat a chicken that died either. One of my December hatched boys crowed today. He caught a cold so I have him in our spare bathroom and my husband was not really happy with the idea, but I said he doesn't crow, ha ha, 2nd day in and yep he started crowing, hope he is better soon, he is not raspy with his breathing today so I figure at least another day or two just to make sure. Waiting on the girls to start laying, I need eggs!!!

I see that HOPE is laying now, congrats to 3D for that.

I hope kats and I also get eggs soon.

and yes mine, there is much room for more... I have given an order for an automatic turner incubator for 100 eggs. I am planning to get 80-100 eggs of ASEEL breed and get them in with in the next 1-2 weeks...
