Hatch-Along - Eggs set in November, due December, anyone?

Poule de luxe how are your babies doing in your Brinsea, any issues? temp etc? How often are you turning your unit?

I am officially in the hatch, look my babies to be in the bator, and they should hatch Dec. 25 what a wonderful Christmas present that would be!!!

Putting 10 into lockdown today!! Another 12 will be in lockdown by the 7th, and we have 12 more we are setting today to be ready to hatch on Christmas!!

Congratulations Katsdar!!!

What an amazing Xmas that will be.

Here, the incubator is doing a good job. I had to pruchase a medical mercury thermometer (about 1$ a the paharmacy) to see wich one of the two thermometer in the brinsea said right and surprinsingly, my digital was the most accurate. So I would recommend buying a medical mercury thermometer and putting it egg level in the brinsea.

Otherwise, I try to turn it 3 times a day.... When I wake up. Midafternoon and when I go to sleep.

So far (day 10 this morning).... 6 little babies moving in there eggshells out of 12... Not so bad considering that 5 were just not fertile.

Very exciting!

I ordered the brinsea brooder and should receive it just in time. Everything is ready to welcome the little chicks. I just hope everything goes well for the lockdown/hatching period.

My bator is holding the temp at 98 according to your machine was the temp high or low? I will get the medical mercury thermometer you suggested[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] also how long do you wait before you start to turn the machine? I read somewhere that you had to wait a day before start turning.[/FONT]

I have read too that you should wait for 1 day defore turning but I am turning mine since I set them and they turned out good.

Yay! My family will have to pull me away from the computer this year on Christmas day as I will be glued to all the hatching pics and updates! Thanks a lot guys! haha!

I LOVE THIS THREAD!!! I don't know how I would be able to manage without all this info and happy stories of baby chicks!!! AHH!! I am so happy for everyone!!!

The background picture on my computer is even a baby chick!! It instantly lifts my spirit. XD And I will probably keep the egg that is dark inside in the incubator... If it starts to smell I will take it out. Isn't it strange for it to be black inside like day 20 when it's only day 12? Sure is interesting.
