No she pecked its poor little head!!! I am soooo sad

I dont understand it! It seemed okay to me. It had just fluffed out and was just starting to move around so I left them be for awhile and when I went back to check on them later it was dead

They have been adopted!!! Incubator's 20 + hen's 6 are learning to eat from their foster mother.

Not much to report here, just the two that have pipped already. They don't seem to be doing much still. At 3:30- 5:30p 3 more pipped They seem to be chirping to each other

So the bad news is, we are due for a storm by midnight tonight and are likely to lose power.. The babies will be okay, we have a generator but I wont be turning on my computer. So I might not be able to update right away

but

we keep our power tonight.

i have 4 pipped, at least one has been that way for eight hours. i have sleep and work to fit in so it will be in the lap of the chicken god for both of us.

I know it i very sad I dont understand why she would sit on eggs for 3 weeks just to kill them.

RED ALERT!
Mallard duck eggs due the 18th and were supposed to have lockdown Saturday have pipped just now >.<
Was about to candle when I heard peeping noises, and then saw pips... Candled JUST to make sure and they have internally pipped and I see the beak....
Took incubator off the turner and bumped the humidity to 65
They are due in 5 days...
Will they be okay?
Btw all 3 that were due the 18th have pipped, not just one..

How are they?????

Guess mine was busy hatching while I was posting that last note lol. Put my kids to bed, went upstairs and heard lots of peeping and there it was already out of the shell! Well I hope little chick get a sibling to play with soon. Seems so lonely. Hatch day is officially tomorrow.. certainly baby will have a friend by then?!

She would take my hand off if I touched her!! Unfortunatly she killed the baby Im going to chalk it up to her knowing something was wrong with the chick because I have been racking my brain trying to figure out why she did it. I just hope she doesnt do it to any of the others that hatch.
