Hatch-Along - Eggs set in November, due December, anyone?

hello everyone, to make a long sad story short, let me begin about my old coop. Back in Jan of 2012 i came across a big pile of wood of an old house that was demolished. I picked it up and built me a decent size coop. The bad thing about it is that i built no walls on it, i just used regular chicken wire on it to enclose all three walls (the back was against concrete fence) anyway everything was good until this past holidays (xmas and new year) when we went to Houston Tx to spend the holidays with my older son in his family, you see i have a pair of neapolitan masriffs and somehow they were able to get out of their cage by lifting the fence from below. They got out and ripped the chicken wire fence of my coop and killed all 50+ layers of production reds and golden comets. They didnt get my quail layers cause their egg production cage is pretty high for them to reach. Anyway, i was all depressed when i came back after the slaughter that i didnt want anything to do with chickens anymore. It's a good thing having friends cause my neighbor and my cousin told me to get everything FIXED and they would give me some pullets and a couple of cockerels (production reds/white leghorns mix). That got me all excited and tore the old coop apart, bought me some second hand green fiberglass panels some timber and a couple of plywoods from my cousin along with a used door and a 16 ft thick welded wire panel and started building my coop once again from scratch and this is the result

rgv sad, but I am happy too you gained hope.

I feed my chooks egg yolks, 4 yolks for the total 26... boiled rice for them, then I boil onions, potatoes & carrots and mix them with whole weat flour and make little balls (approx 300 grams ) to feed them, and then I have the 'grower feed' which always remains in the feed containers

and multivitamins in the water

what do you give your chick(s)??

i feed my flock Showmaster for Turkey and Broilers:

Show Turkey & Broiler Starter Feed

na3048747.gif
Show Turkey & Broiler Starter Feed is a complete medicated feed designed as a starting ration for show broilers, roasters and capons. The product is to be fed from day one to three weeks of age. Show Turkey & Broiler Starter Feed is also a complete starting ration for show turkeys and poults in the first 13 weeks of age.

Why Showmaster
00ae.png
Turkey & Broiler Starter Feed is ideal for broilers and turkeys

Protein: 30.0% Fat: 3.5% Fiber: 3.5%
  • High protein levels promote optimum performance of meat-type show birds and turkey poults.
  • Crumble form helps stimulate feed intake while reducing waste.
  • Fortified with vitamins, minerals and trace minerals to promote performance.
  • Proper balance of calcium and phosphorous for growth and development.
And blend this feed with broken corn and wheat and blend it all together in a mill.
My baby chicks get the showmaster alone for the first 6 weeks then i give them the same as the flock.

I also add in the drinking water Avian Superpack every other week.

Nutritional supplement for use in drinking water of all species of poultry. Use during times of stress and/or reduced feed consumption. Contains high levels of vitamin A, D3, E, B12, Riboflavin, Niacin and 100 mg per pound of biotin. Mix one 4 oz package into 256 gallons of water. Great source of electrolytes.
