OMG Poor chickies! Get the source of what is causing them to peck out of there fast before any more chicks get hurt/die!

yep.. I kicked the Hen out... and the other 4 which were in 'protection' status are doing ok.... and yes I think its because of their fathers traits
today I caught two fighting, they were trying to prove which one is bigger so I took one of them and place him in with the other 4 and then all was well :/
and when I took the 4 back with the others some started attacking again... idk whats with these 4 but currently we have a state of equilibrium with 5 in custody and 21 in the room. I hope no more crazies now, it is stressfull... even more than the incubation phase!!

someone wants to prove he is billy bad ***, 2 of my chicks try it but with each other, my husband thinks its funny because they are so little trying to be so big fluffing their feathers and jumping up like they are going to spur each other, I told them they better be careful they might end up in the pot

I almost forgot

I have big news, my hen who is a little over 22 wks, laid her first egg today!!!!

but she saw me take it and came out of the coop just a squawking she was really upset I took it. Her brother of the same age crowed for the first time the other day, I thought I was hearing things, but nope it was him.

3D I hope so too, they are all ok now seperated from each other. Their mom is trying to mix up with the other hens, she was the alpha female and now she is right at the bottom of the hierarchy, she has to work hard now

Now when I go in they wanna jump on me like they did on their mommy, they sit on my lap and hands, I guess I am the forster mother now

this is the last one to hatch, he is very small as compared to others, he has a gap in his beak, maybe he can't eat right... poor thing....
