Hatch-Along - Setting eggs this weekend (Jan5/6) WHOS WITH ME!

Here are my eggs set. The color isnt true in the pic, they are much bluer, greener, and more olive green in real life.

We have eggs! The mailman probably thought we were crazy as we stalked him all the way down the street and the kids ran out to greet him. They have been numbered, named by the kiddos and are currently resting. 13 eggs all arrived safely and beautifully packaged. Let me see if I can load a pic...

We just received our eggs today!! We have 10 Copper Marans eggs and are really excited to start these ones since our first batch didn't hatch any. They will go into the incubator tomorrow morning!!!!

I'll join!  I got a Brinsea 20 Advance for Christmas, and I'm picking up a couple dozen Maran eggs to set tomorrow!

Lucky you! I'm still waiting for my Brinsea to arrive...ground shipping is really slow and it's trying my patience. But I've got a small handful of my own Welsummer eggs that I'd like to hatch/experiement with since this is my first go of it. The science, the opinions of it all is fascinating! Can't wait!! And then maybe after this, i might get some Marans as i saw an ad on Craiglist from a local breeder- who knows.

So I went and picked up my eggs this morning! I ordered: 7 Black Copper Maran 7 Golden Cuckoo Maran 7 White Maran The farmer gave me that plus 9 more mystery unlabeled Maran eggs! So what to do when you have 30 eggs to fit in your new Brinsea which only holds 24? You put them in there anyway!

Wow! I'd say you have a serious case of chicken math! ;-) What are those black strings/white bands for? Just to secure the top layer of eggs? Or does that come w/ the Brinsea?
