Hatch-Along - Setting eggs this weekend (Jan5/6) WHOS WITH ME!

Well, It probably looks a lot like the last video...
Gracie is still at it with the turning, so she isn't into the lockdown mode yet, I guess.

after about time mark 1:55 it's pretty much her rearranging her nest, I added a couple handfuls of fresh straw in after seeing her 'tucking herself in' and she spent the afternoon happily rearranging it around herself.

She only got off the nest once today that I know of (per video reviews) and that was about 8am...

We are officially in lockdown. I dry hatch also but like to add a little humidity starting now. Mine always runs about 16 percent and this time ranged up to 21 percent, average. So excited! So excited!

Nice videos fisherlady, I love seeing your broody at work

Congrats everyone who has made it to lockdown. I know a few others are still waiting for their lockdown day. These almost 3 weeks felt like they were taking forever to get from setting, then waiting for the first candling, and the next candling and the next. But looking back now seems the time flew right by. Cant believe its hatch time already

I stared at my eggs for what seemed like forever last night (im pretty sure DH thinks Im nut) on commercials during our tv shows I was putting nose smudges on the bator window lol. But before bed last night I was up to a count of 6 eggs wobbling

You really can't go by whether she gets up or rearranges her eggs or not. My last broodie did that even during active hatch. As soon as I would open the cage to feed she was at the bowl waiting for me to pour it in, even over the entire 3 days the chicks were hatching. She was in a nest box in a breeder cage with 3 other birds & she even let them in the box with her at night when temps dropped. Guess she was using their body heat to keep herself & the eggs warm. She hatched 9/11, 1 was clear & 1 was rotten, so 100% on all the good ones.

I have to work today, so will be getting secondhand reports till tomorrow morning when I get home. It looks like she is listening to something this morning... tipping her head back and forth, etc... so I am hoping she is starting to hear something from the eggs and not just all of her coop mates!
