Lockdown has got to be the most nerve wracking, longest three days or so ever in the history of mankind. Still waiting on my two little Serama babes...no action just yet, but I'm hopeful

Welcome jj!!! Nice to have you onboard! My fellow is also waiting for his first 'official' little ones.... We got to hear some cheeping under Gracie tonight, but haven't seen if there are chicks who have actually hatched or if they are just internally hatched and talking to 'mama' already!

JJ says "Hi back" We put bator 1 in lockdown this morning but haven't raised humidity yet because of the low temps that seem to have delayed our chicks a bit. I'll candle a few tomorrow night & see where we stand on development before adding water. JJ has never watched a chick hatch before, so I know where his nose will be once the rockin & rollin begins

Same here. Nada going on. Trying to increase my humidity a little. I dry hatch but worrying that it's staying at 16%. A lot of nail biting going on. I'm trying t remember, if it was late on the 5th or wee early on the 6th. Maybe I don't need to panic until Sun night. Sue

Where is all the action? I can't sleep knowing things are happening. I videoed my egg chirping but can't upload from my phone. One pip and nothing has happened since except more chirping. I just want to yell at my chickies to come out!! Lol

Congrats Purewellsprings on your first hatch it is so cute and fantastic that your DD got to enjoy it with you.

Oh and fisherlady I cant forget Gracie who is doing a good job on those eggs, Im so excited you heard a baby!

Everyone else Im glad your hearing cheeps and have some pips. I woke up this morn to no new activity. One egg still faintly cheeping at me and 2 pips I think maybe 3 pips but didnt turn the light on to really look since DH is still sleeping.

I expect in a few hours we will be getting lots of reports on new pips zips more cheeping and hopefully tons of pics.

Woke up to a pip - day 20! Humidity holding steady @ 73% Shouldn't be long now!

Patience may be a virtue, but all good things come to those who wait! You know I'm right, lol!

No pips for me, but I do think that I heard a peep!!!! No wobbly eggs though. Just one (I could be my imagination) peep! I can't wait until there are some chicks in there. Brooder is all ready to go and I insanely, but I think correctly also have Marek's vaccine on hand and ready to deliver the day after the last one hatches. We'll see how that goes.

Well I woke up all through the night checking for anything...nothing! Did hear a few chirps from my pipped egg, but other that maybe a hair line more crack, nothing else. This is the worst part!! The waiting game is not very fun...come on already little chickies!!! Please!!

We have a peep-peep-peeping coming from the incubator this morning! I took out the egg turner late Wednesday night and have been turning by hand- I have 12 other eggs in the bator that I set a week later. I don't have a hygrometer, but have been trying to keep water in the bottom of it - and I've had a hard time candling since the shells are so dark on some of them. I'm worried with our recent cold snap that they may have gotten too dry- Can anyone tell me what I should expect with a hatch the first time around? My 6y/o is about to jump out of his skin listening to the chicks and waiting for someone to pop out of their shell! I have no sign of pips or cracks that I can see and after this first go-round kicking my butt with temperature fluctuations (It was around 70F when I set them and dropped to 18F earlier this week) and would hate for them to have made it this far only to die in the shell?
