I really want to name the chick Garbage, but my BF says we have to name it Miracle. He has no sense of humor.

I'll officially be at day 21 in 26mins from now.
Nothing is going on, zero , nada, complete stillness w/ silence (even have turned off the fan & put ear to bator 3x today to listen)

Oh, and last night my self distraction plan -- I found we were out of popcorn, so I used some home-canned peach preserves and made fired turnover things.Tonight I might end up baking oatmeal cookies -- eating for the chicks isn't the best thing, but I figure it isn't the worst either!
I see nothing wrong with eating for 2 or 20 or 30. You need to keep your strength up. Sue

I vote for trashy!  lol  (sorry)  no noise coming from my incubator.  I'm losing my sanity.

Sorry to hear Sally. Hopefully, things pick up and go quickly...come on little chickies!!

My second pip has been slowly zipping for the last 2 hrs and I finally saw it break through another spot. Believe me, even with action (slow as molasses!!) I'm losing my sanity as well! Lol

I'm so glad you heard it and were able to get it back into the bator!!!! Congrats on the rest and hope the 'surprise' does well!

Way to go! Can you get a pick of the chick with his back covered, and maybe another as it comes off? I'd be interested in seeing if it effects him over the next day or two. And.... pics??????? come on! We need pics!!!

Just think of her now being the 'drill sargeant'....she's telling the others to hurry up!
waiting for pics!! Can you get a camera up over the shelf edge? LOL...
here are a few pics-some of the membrane is sort of under the "fuzz"-its actually two big pieces, one on her wing , the other across her back. It was bigger and in one piece(it has broke in to two and gotten smaller )

An update on the rest of the eggs-nothing from the last basque hen(think it might not happen) . Worried about my wyandottes-not a single movement , peep or anything. i have a couple of days to go

Fingers crossed for you! You never know when they're going to decide to take action.

That's interesting. I have a chick that hatched with a big bald spot on it's back. When I pulled the shell out of the bator, it had a big patch of fuzz stuck to it. I'm glad the chick was able to free itself. I wonder how long it will take for the membrane to wear off?
