awww so cute! put a teddy bear in there for it to snuggle on! my babies seem to like to burrow under the arms of the one I put in there.

Its a blue laced red wyandotte. Probably going to be a black laced one.

I was thinking I must have done something wrong for 4 out of 5 in lockdown not to make it but I did eggtopsies & 3 of the 4 were upside down which I understand is common in shipped eggs. Not sure what happened to the 4th.

Came home tonight to a pip at around 6:30pm. No action until around 9:15 pm when the little one started zipping in earnest! Took all of 40min to pop the shell. Born at around 9:53pm.

Waited for the little guy to dry off then took him/her out to the temp brooder.

Too cute. Mother is a Red Star hen, father is an Ameraucana/Black Copper Maran mix.

No other pips yet.

cant wait to see how the other 15 make out.
