Congratulations! Just a question, why do you have them in egg cartons for hatch? Also, what's the other stuff in there for? Should I be putting them in something? Mine are just on a bit of paper towel, but laying naturally...

I just put mine in egg cartons for lockdown, too. You put them in with the aircell up so they'll stay in a good position for hatching.
I didn't do this with my last hatch & the first chicks that hatched were playing football with the unhatched eggs - and one of them pipped upside down & died.

Thanks! The way you have them is just fine. I have mine in cartons as it was easier. For me to fit my eggs in that way. The rest of. The junk you saw was water for heat sinks and water for humidity ..

I have 3 more pips!!

:weee

I'm so excited I had to set my baby monitor up so I could watch without going in my closet every 15 min lol I still have until Monday but I'm prepared!! :)

Locked down at noon. Went back up to check on them an hr ago and was at 67% humidity and 97.0 degrees... I have to go back before 8 pm if I want to change anything, because the church is using my classroom for confession during their retreat this weekend. I won't be able to go back in to check or make adjustments until tomorrow morning. What do you guys think?

I like your little baskets!

Aren't they supposed to be at 99.5?

97 degrees isn't too bad. 99.5 is preferable, but 97 probably won't harm them at this point and your humidity is perfect. Good Luck!
