You can make a water wiggler if you wanted. I did back when I was first getting used to my incubator. It's really easy - all you need is a Ziploc bag and two rubber bands.

I found the wigglers in a dollar store ($1), and the meat thermometer at an overstock store for about $3.99. Been wondering whether I should buy up their stock and resell a wiggler-thermometer bundleYea read about the water wigglers. Can't seem to find one at any stores. Only seen them online. But my thermometers don't have a probe.

I did try this -- and it really didn't work for me.I overbalanced my homemade egg turner, tumbled one of my eggs... and I was using 2 small sandwich sized ziplocs. I also didn't get accurate temperature readings from it. So I resolved to try everywhere that could have toys to find it -- ToysRUs didn't know what I was talking about, and I looked in a local flea market but no luck, 2 dollar stores, struck it rich on the 2nd one and bought 5

Never heard of a water wiggler, must google.I found the wigglers in a dollar store ($1), and the meat thermometer at an overstock store for about $3.99. Been wondering whether I should buy up their stock and resell a wiggler-thermometer bundleI didn't like the price+shipping through Amazon, so I hunted around my area until I found them. Wigglers were called "water snakes" at that store, if that helps. I've seen "water worm" also....
Oh sorry, what day are you on? They are big now and you may not see them move.I think mine are all dead!!I couldn't take it any more. I candled one then another till all 4 and no movement at all in the eggs. You can see feathers and all. I don't know what I did at lockdown. Something happened. Not a very good day.![]()
I have a chick! It's huge. It literally hatched bigger than my two week old silkie. It's also ridiculously loud and clumsy. I had to take her out because she was playing hockey with all the other eggs. Still, she's cute![]()
Yea who knows about the temp. These thermometers aren't right from what I can tell. Have a better one ordered for next time.

Really easy way to calibrate your thermometer is to take crushed ice put it in a glass add just a little water, stir vigorously then put your thermometer in. It should read exactly 32 deg F. If it doesn't that how far it's off.
