Hatch-Along - Setting eggs week of February 8th!! Who's joining me?

Nice. Mine due tomorrow but who knows. Had movement yesterday morning but nothing since then. :barnie

Don't panic...they take some long breaks to gather energy for the tasks ahead. They pip, then nap for hours, then zip....it's such hard work! The wobbling was probably getting into position, breaking into the air sack, or using their lungs for the first time... So just pray and wait....

I am praying and watching!! Trust me!!

I stare at the window just to see some movement for hours.

Well, out of 24 buff orp eggs, 14 started to develop, and then 10 quit, so I have four eggs that MIGHT hatch for a guy who paid for 15. Sigh. But, on the bright side, while I was doing the final candle last night before lockdown, one of my mixed eggs that had been under my broody peeped at me! It pipped in the middle of the night and now it looks like it's trying to zip, so there might be a new life in the world by this evening :)

Well better than mine so far. I have only 4 left too. Tomorrow is suppose to be hatch day. When I first put them to lock down seen them rock here and there. Haven't seen any movement since yesterday morning.

Depressing 3 weeks. I sure want to just reach in there and see if there's life in those eggs. But restraining myself.

I think that movement is turning to face the airspace, and then they rest a good while before pipping. Don't give up, and don't check on them just in case they get too big to turn again so easily. I didn't see any rocking for a while after lockdown, but I have 5 peeps now. the last egg still hasn't pipped yet, but it was set a day after the others. I may swipe the 5 out quickly this evening if there's no pip on that last egg....toss them in the brooder. They're all fuzzybutts now, but the sand in the brooder is warming up.
