Hatch along!!!! setting january 11-15!!!

Wow! good work.  This is my first ever hatch, so I am realllllly excited/nervous.  How long should it take before more chicks hatch?  Of course there could be more going on under the hen, but when I looked last I didn't see anything but one fluffy chick.  GAH  How long does it usually take for all to hatch?

My broody hatched hers over two days. I got two Silkie chicks on day 20 and one Silkie and three LF mixes on day 21. I put all the eggs under her at the same time. If you have different age eggs under her it could drag out a bit.

If your lifting her up to look at the eggs maybe pick one up and listen to it. sometimes when I'm worried that the eggs are done hatching I listen to the ones left making sure I don't turn them too much. usually if there's a live chick i can hear either peeping or some tapping noise as the chick is trying to pip. You need to be quick because every time you lift the hen your releasing heat and humidity. Good luck!

I have two chickens, one egg with large pip hole, and one with nothing yet.

The one with nothing has been the wiggliest and I thought it would go first. Oh well. I definitely had too much humidity this hatch. Had it at standard recommended levels and noticed air cells were quite small at 14 days. I took out all water and it went to 16 for the remainder, but the air cells were still on the small side. It was low enough to keep the babies from drowning (hope that is the case for egg #4), but I have very sticky chicks that won't fluff and a good amount of goo left in the shells. Gonna try dry hatch for days 1-18 next time and weigh my eggs. Come on chick number 4 your sibs are waiting!!!!

Destinysma, not sure how long your chicks will take. It took like 18 hrs from pip to hatch for the first of mine, then like 3 hours for the second. I'd definitely give them a couple days or so. They definitely have the finest incubator, lol, so I wouldn't worry.

Thanks for the info! I put all eggs at the same time, today is day 21. They were shipped eggs from 2 different sources so....? I guess I will see what's what later today.

Thank you so much for the information and encouragement! I am DYING here at my office on this beautiful sunny day wondering if chicks are waiting at home. Then I am helping with concessions at the basketball game tonight so I may NEVER get home....UGH That's it, I am taking a long lunch to go peek at them!
