Thanks Bama - I really needed that reassurance. Still nothing and day 21 starts in 30 minutes. Shesh! They sure do know how to make us feel like we are on pins and needles. I went home at lunch time to lay my head on the bator to see if they were making any noises. Unfortunately, my DH saw me - now I will never live that one down. He just doesn't understand.
I am on day 19 and I have not heard a peep or seen any movement yet. I have worn the floor down in a path to the incubator, and stare lovingly with flashlight in hand! I am certain my DH has caught me talking to the eggs, making the chicks familiar with my voice so they will know me when they arrive, Little Einstein Chicks! As I write I glimpse over to read the digital thermometer set up to be read from any point in the room. I dream about humidity, temperature settings, and what to hatch next! I have to go now, my daughter is on the phone, DH has offerred to stare blankly into the incubator while I speak with her! Please keep us posted as to your progress, and please post pics. Your comrade in anticipation- Aleece
Aleece, I'm with you! While I haven't hatched chicks, I live vicarously (sp?) through several of you here on BYC. I love to hear what's happening and when, how long between rockin'/pippin'/zippin'/hatchin'....I can so see how addicting it is!
OK - I'm really frustrated now. Day 22 starts in 30 minutes and I've got 4 eggs that are barely rocking. I wonder what would cause this late of a hatch - my temps (3 thermometers in the bator) have been perfect along with my humidity. I still have no pips or anything. Ugghh!!!
