Don't worry about the egg carton or the cups! The cups are too slick for chicks to walk on.
The Brinsea is soooo easy to clean up afterwards. Just lay the eggs on their sides. But, you need to go to a dollar store or Home Depot and get some rubbery shelf liner. It's sold to put plates and dishes on the shelves in kitchen cabinets. The eggs won't roll and the chicks get a firm grip, no spraddle leg.
I am using a foam Hovabator. Could I use the shelf liner also? Do you cover the whole screen or just parts of it?
