• giveaway ENDS SOON! Cutest Baby Fowl Photo Contest: Win a Brinsea Maxi 24 EX Connect CLICK HERE!

hatch date is Friday! Anyone else? IT HATCHED! PICS********

Don't worry about the egg carton or the cups! The cups are too slick for chicks to walk on.
The Brinsea is soooo easy to clean up afterwards. Just lay the eggs on their sides. But, you need to go to a dollar store or Home Depot and get some rubbery shelf liner. It's sold to put plates and dishes on the shelves in kitchen cabinets. The eggs won't roll and the chicks get a firm grip, no spraddle leg.

I am using a foam Hovabator. Could I use the shelf liner also? Do you cover the whole screen or just parts of it?

I go into lockdown tommorrow

Yes, I use it in my Genesis 1588. Cover the whole screen then cut out a strip (one for center well and the one next to it) under the vent plug so you can ad water through the vent plug with plastic fish tank tubing attached to a turkey baster. I also cut a slit at the back left corner and insert another line of tubing through the hole used to put the cord through for the auto turner so I can also ad water to the outer water well. Happy hatching!

I totally miss-counted my days and realized that tomorrow is day 18 for me (I thought tomorrow was day 17). So I did my last candling tonight and one out of the two I have left looks awesome!! And we even saw it kick one of its little feet! The other one looks like it *MIGHT* have died at around day 12 or 13ish. I am hoping I am wrong about this but we will see.

I do have kitchen shelf liner stuff and plan on using it! I hope it work well....... do I have to secure it down or can do I just place it on the bottom of the bator?

I'm on day 20 today. I candled before lockdown and saw movement in my eggs. So far since lockdown I haven't seen any movement of the eggs, peeping or pipping. I am scared they're not gonna hatch. I feel like I've done everything by the book. I'm just anxious because the last time I incubated, I had several developed chicks and they died before pipping. I'm at work, and hopefully I'm just being paranoid, and HOPEFULLY I'll have some pips when I get home later!

I lockdown Thursday! I've done so well with this hatch and not anticipating it too much, but that is getting harder now that I'm coming up on lockdown!

Lockdown today!!!!! Just unplugged the turner and about to candle then raise humidity!!!! Eeek I cant hold still!!!!! You could swear this is my first hatch!!! Lol
