Hatch date May 17! anybody else?

My bobwhite quails just came yesteday. I still have 12 eggs did not peck or just peck a little. Then my father in law who raised pigeons for many years told me how to open the eggs and help the weak bird come out. 6 of them survived finally.

My goose (due today) has been pipped since yesterday but hasn't hatched yet. The turkeys are due tomorrow but didn't have any pips when I checked them earlier. The pheasants are due Tuesday so they've still got a little while yet.

Yep ! My first pheasant chick hatched 2 hours ago ! Whew ! My first successful pheasant hatch. He's 2 days early, but I've read a lot of folks say they get early birds now and then. Just noticed another one pipping. They're on day 22 (pheasants lock down @ day 21, hatch around 24). So now I'm all excited and will stay up to see if any more pip/hatch tonight.
My first 2 tries on pheasant eggs didn't go well. First time I was too eager and opened the incubator too much. Plus I think I had the day 1-21 humidity too high (60 %). Read a couple of pheasant hatchers who said they did well with lower (53%) humidity for day 1-21, then run it up to 70% during the hatch. So far that's worked (1 whole chick !). So here's hoping the little guy who's pipping makes it and the rest of his 27 buddies follow along within the next 2 days.
By the way, I live in Washington state and have hatched banty eggs from the Carolinas, Florida and Missouri. Shipping can be really tough on eggs, I'm told, but I couldn't find eggs locally and got fair hatch rate from the "long distance" eggs.
Hang in there and keep an ear to your incubator! You'll hear them chirping away even before they pop out. Good luck!

We've got 28 eggs in the incubator and four more under a broody hen that are due 'round about this Thursday. First time running this incubator and only the second time I've ever used one . . . little nervous about how I'm going to get the humidity up tomorrow at lockdown, but fortunately a storm system moved in today and that has made a big difference. Well, it's fortunate so long as we don't lose power!

I've got a jacket on the incubator and a surge protector between it and the wall, but you can only do so much . . . .

Day 20..and still no pips.. Im starting to worry, Ive tried listening for them, I hear nothing...I stare at them all crazy like to see if any are rocking and nothing...very frusterating...I have to work this afternoon and I reall hope when i get home this evening something will be happening..Im starting to lose hope, even though its still only day 20..

Still nothing for me. Mine are under my broody BO, so I can't really see anything. However, I went to check on her yesterday and I picked up one of the eggs and it wobbled in my hand!! It was a little freaky (this is my first experience). I found a pretty neat website with some info for hatching with a broody... didn't help with my anticipation, since it says that most eggs that hatch from under a broody hatch at 20 days vs 21 in an incubator.

Here is that link...

TECHNICALLY it is still day 20 since I didn't put the eggs under her until 6pm on April 25th, so day 21 will begin this evening...

I have 4 pipped this morning and I can hear them peeping!!

I'm a first timer, so I'll be camped out peering through the little windows all day I'm sure!
