I just read cochins often take 22 days to hatch. Hmmm. Might explain 2 of the eggs no-action eggs.

Well BYC people, I learned a VERY VERY important thing this morning....trust your instincts! I had an egg (my only one) peep and move on day 21. I waited cuz "don't open the bator" played in my mind.....Here it is day 23 and and I said screw that anbd opened the bator....the egg pipped on the bottom side where you could not see it....I opened the shell and I have a beautiful fully formed baby---DEAD!!!

I should have opened the bator to roll the egg for signs of pipping on day 21!
I am busy crying now and so angry for not trusting my Mommie instincts.

I am so sorry. It's not your fault. Crap happens. Even if you did open the incubator and tried to rescue it it might not have survived and then you would be blaming yourself for interfering. I am such a softie as these are my babies; I would do anything for them but getting out of that shell is their job. If they can do it...well, must not have been meant to be. I know it's hard because you were only down to one. Next time you might have one that beats the odds. Look at all the BYCs who have major incubator problems and still have good hatches. Hatching is up to the chicks.

Yes. I leave them in the tray, easier to clean up after the hatch and as you can see in the pic they have no trouble hatching. Even with staggered hatches, I also turn off the turner until the hatch is done then turn the auto-turner back on and the eggs due to hatch at a later date still hatch with no problems, I have been doing it this way of for couple of years now. I also DRY incubate(I live in the south so humidity is high here), meaning I add no water until eggs are on 18-19th day of incubation, then I add very hot water to the water tray, and by the time I pull the chicks the water tray is dry again until the next round of eggs reach 18-19th day.

would another 3 days from today be too late for these chicks to hatch?
Momma has two hatched esterday morning.. and was kinda only half sitting on her other 3 eggs.. well.. today i but the chick waterer and feeder in there for them... and noticed the other eggs were barely under her.. so i craked them open.. live chickens with full yolks

one was alive after i opened it.. and it was peeping.. i put it in the house under momma... and while i was washing the mess off my hands... a chicken stuck it's head in the little tiny gap i left accidentally and pulled the live baby out..

So I have two perfect little yellow peeeps... two dead black ones.. and a dead white one.. sad day.. i just thought it was too late
