Hi, today would've been hatch day for my six br eggs but only one made it to lockdown so I'm very nervous for it. I call him alien because he looks like a little alien when I candle, but the last time I candled, before lockdown, he wasn't moving :( does this mean he's dead? :'( :'(

I hope alien is ok. I am first time incubating and on day 12. I don't know what to tell you, but I think when everyone gets home from work and settles down with their computers someone will answer you soon.

No, alien isn't dead, or at least not from what I've learned. It's very common for the chicks to seem unmoving when you candle it before lockdown. Be patient, and don't worry! Keep the temp at a steady temp around 98-100 and humidity about 65%- 70%. When it starts to pip, try to lower the temp to about 97-98 and keep te humidity up. Give it time to hatch- patience is a virtue, and will increase the chance of it hatching. And by all means, good luck!!!!!! I hope Alien hatches!!

they just get quiet home stretch.they may pop hole and still not do anything till next day, getting used to the air I suppose, just be patient.
