It doesn't look like itShould I chip away at the shell a little?
Oh no!! Ok, this is what you need to do. Pick her up out of the bator and hold her in a warm, damp cloth. Go over to somewhere with good lighting, and use a pair of tweezers to slowly and gently pull of peices of shell around her beak. Do not rip the membrane!!! If you see any signs of life or blood or yolk, put it back in the bator immediately. While you are pulling off the shell, examine the membrane. Are there any visible blood vessels? What is the color? Is it a dry, chalky white/green/or brown, or does it look alive and moist? The chick could be just resting, don't give up hope yet... Don't pull away much of the shell- only around the beak and air sac unless you know for sure that the chick is dead. In that case, you can continue chipping away the shell and slowly, carefully open the chick to see what went wrong. Once again, if you see any signs of blood or life, stop. Good luck!!!!

it's just life, I guess. You win some you loose some. Some first timers dot even get a single hatch, so you were actually lucky! Wheezy looks adorable, I'm sorry she has to be an only chick. I have had lone chicks and lone ducks, an lemme tell ya be grateful she isn't a duck!! XD try to get the temp up to about 95-100, 90 at the lowest. You can put a mirror and stuffed animal in the brooder to keep her company. I would also suggest giving her some Save-A-Chick solution (do you know what that is?) and what kind of feed do you have? Did your hubby take the egg out of the bator before you could try to help it? That's why I don't let any of my family anywhere near the bator during hatch time lol
