Aww, so cute! Yup, she is a tufty blue baby. Great job helping her. Many tufted die in the shell on araucana between days 18-21. Great job rescuing that cutie!

OH NO!!!!

I moved the babies into the brooder - went back to the bator to turn it off and heard a noise

I picked up the larger EE egg, and decided to make a hole - I don't want to see a dead baby - but had to open it.

ITS ALIVE!!!!!!!

I have been in twice now pulling off shell and a tiny bit of membrane - the other egg looks like a dead baby - died a while ago.......

Hold off on opening that EE baby. Mine usually take 22-23 days to hatch. As long as it has the hole, it can breathe just fine. I'd give it some time to try on its own. Good luck.

Thanks Jody - she's half way open already.......... the shell was dry and brittle and the membrane almost seems like a double layer :o
Her beak is out and one eye (she's looking at me) she's all wrapped in wet paper towels to have a rest..... she peeped once but otherwise quiet......

I think perhaps my humidity was too low ? ? it was around 70% the entire last three days, I did manage to get it up a little higher at one point, but when I upped the humidity - the temp dropped. So I left it at 70%....

I'm waiting and watching, she's become a little louder and is wiggling around.....

The babes are sooo cute!

The last little baby is still in her half shell with wet paper towels around her, still breathing, moving peeping... she did break a piece of shell off herself, but so far is still folded up inside the shell.....
