Hatch day!

Its day 16 and I woke up with a little chick peeping and hopping around. Another couple eggs had cracks and were jiggling. Chick 2 and 3 hatched a few hours later, even though a different one had zipped all the way around before they had done much. He finally broke the top off partially but he's exhausted and just sitting in his egg, not unfurled his head yet or anything, but at least I know he is breathing.

Hatching is tiring work! Congrats, hope the rest make it out fine.

I'm starting to freak out. The first 3 came with no trouble at all. Number 4 zipped and then got stuck. When he finally managed to get most the way out he had shell stuck to him, huge pieces. He couldn't really walk or see out of one eye, so 8 made the call to quickly pull him and wet his feathers gently till the shell released and put him back. He's hoping around fine now, but suddenly I'm getting tons of pipes and none of them are where they should be. Maybe more had messed up air cells than I thought and it caused them to breach?

I'm leaving them alone for now, hoping they can manage to zip okay anyways. They have some time for sure.

Oh my goodness, as i was writing, I looked over, and one has zipped and is resting before trying to break out but he looks great!

I'm going to try and stop worrying, they will probably be just fine.
