Hatch eggs in an egg carton??????

I tried the egg cartons last hatch and loved it because there was very little mess to clean up after. The newly hatched chicks could flop all over the unhatched eggs and not move them at all, which made checking them through the window for pips so much easier

....you know how you keep running to check if more pipped and counting down the numbers to (hopefully) 0 to go.

I do not know what you are talking about. I do not do this. Nope. I sure do not.

yeah right ... who am I kidding? My family laughs at me because I have to jump up and check the bator every 15 minutes after that first pip ... and sleep? What is that?

I always hatch in cartons; here's a short video of a December hatch...I made it for my relatives so I'm talking (sorry) in it, but you can see how easily the little tacker just popped right out!

I have a rubber mat type shelf liner, which is a sort of weave design, with holes all the way thru it. The eggs don't roll on it by themselves, but the hatched chicks roll the eggs all over, as they crawl and fall around thru them. Did the towel stop this?

Yes the towel really helps this a lot!

I hatch in an egg carton. Keeps the bator cleaner, and it prevents the hatched chicks from rolling around and bashing up the other eggs, which makes it easier for the chicks to hatch out, as they dont need to keep readjusting their position.

Nothing about an incubator is natural. I had much better success with my eggs in cartons for hatching. In fact, I always use them throughout the entire incubation.
