Yes, yes, yes!!! OH PLEASE!!! I have tried everything!!! I would be happy to pay him whatever he wants and if these don't work and I still don't get any, buy some from you in the spring.

I plan to keep trying until I get some no matter what it takes. I would be thrilled to get one to hatch (that would end up being one expensive chicken after all these eggs) but he thinks we need some to breed!!

Funny thing is, right now, he will only see them twice a year anyway!!!

I will try to remember to call tomorrow, kids first day of school so it will be hectic. I will let you know what happens

I have three boys and last week was their first week back. I think I finally got some rest late Sunday evening!!!

You can't imagine how happy that makes me!!

I am really sorry about the babies, PBJmaker.

The last ones I lost seemed to have a lot of fluid in the shells. did you happen to notice if there were any deformities? Mine had abdominal deformities which several people thought could be from a bacterial infection. I think that was the cause of the extra fluid too, they couldn't use it properly while developing. I don't know, but it is definitely disheartening.

I only opened them up enough to see that they looked pretty much "full term" but didn't take them out and uncurl their bodies.

This group of eggs though came as 14 with two eggs obliterated. The egg closest to the broken one never developed, and the others nearest them developed blood rings. So I guess I am lucky that I got one chick out of the batch. Unfortunately it was a breed that was just thrown in extra - not the crele polish I wanted.

I mean he is cute as a button and all, but I got the polish because my daughters boyfriend thinks they are way cool and asked if I would hatch some for him to see ( I get to keep them, he just gets the pleasure of seeing them)

Of course - no arm twisting there...

:aww I'm sorry about your chickies... I know how you feel. I opened up the last 3 of the BBS orps, and they were all perfectly formed, just not quite done. The yolk was not absorbed yet.

But don't stop trying!

Christy, I wish I had La Fleche to send you... that is beautiful.

That is sweet. Heyyyyyyyyy.......maybe if I painted the quail black and glued little red horned combs to their heads he would accept them. LOL

****UPDATE****

I had fell asleep..lol back though for an update

Temps in bator are steady at 99.5 although the thermometer thats on the wire says temps close to the wire went down 2 degrees but no worries it will go back up ...and humidity went down to 65% witch is still good so i'm not worried about that

I take Tori silkie and Charlie buff silkie eggs off the turners and into the cartons in the morning

I've noticed that the temps and humidity go all wonky when they start hatching... just let it do it. At this point it won't hurt them.

So, how many of my silkies do you have to put in the hatcher?
