Where did you get the Brabanter eggs? I did a Google search and they are some pretty birds. I candled mine last night and one of them stretched out its leg. It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen! The 15th needs to hurry up and get here!!!

Never heard of Brabanter before, so I too had to look them up. Very cool looking bird. Hope yours make it and you can produce some eggs for selling to other BYCers

.... hint, hint. Link to feathersite page about Brabanters for anyone interested.

Here is a question for experienced hatchers/candlers. I have one egg, an EE, that has a huge air cell. Yesterday was day 12 of incubation. It is double if not more the size of all other air cells. Whats going on? It is only one egg, so I don't think it too low humidity. Is this just a fluke of some eggs? It is a very thick shelled egg so I'm unable to see anything else in the egg, but I highly doubt it would allow room to grow inside it.

Is this the type of egg that explodes?

I keep picturing the egg being under extreme pressure from inside to cause the air cell to grow so large. Also, no odor from egg that I can tell...I use apple scented hand sanitizer before touching so that kinda makes it difficult to detect a slight odor. I've left the egg in over night, but am nervous about letting it stay in there.

I have to share my good news with people who understand! I candled my eggs this morning. Looks like the power outage didn't affect them.

out of 10 eggs started 2 were clear, 7 were good developers, 1 has good veining but I couldn't see the dot.
