It's the coolest ever!!! I saw it for the first time yesterday i was so excited i went out and told my welsummer roo how proud I was of him and his girls and gave them a treat!!

Yesterday was my first time seeing them move too and I got sooo excited!! Its great to see the hard work paying off, and I just can't wait to have little babies!

Great video!! I candled all 14 of my silkie eggs.. It seems that every egg I checked had movement of the little black dot in all but one egg. These are shipped eggs too! I called my mom and told her every time I candled an egg.. on the 8th phone call she said I'll just hang on while you do the other six so you can stop calling me! haha. Love the pictures! I will have to post some this Saturday of mine.

Hey, is it ok if I join? This is my first time hatching eggs, I have 8 BCM eggs that I set on the 24th, due to hatch the 14th or 15th. I also got a black star hen from the feed store, she came from a flock with a rooster and her first couple of eggs she laid for us were fertile still, so we sent 2 to my friends classroom to hatch for her students. The 2 mystery eggs are due to hatch the 10th. I have the BCMs in a LG still air borrowed from a friend, got them off ebay and am turning them by hand 5 times a day. Temp stays pretty steady as long as I maintain a steady room temp, but had some spikes to 102 and it drops to 97 occasionaly. I am trying very hard to wait patiently to candle them until day 10 since they are dark.

Welcome to the newbies

I just candled some of mine after my power failure yesterday, probably a bit soon to tell if they've been ruined but by gosh they are (or where) developing nicely

My broody hen is officially a mother today! I have seen 2 little black faces and a gorgeous little white one and they have popped out right on time dispite being left to go cold for 4 hours on day 10 when broody was accidently locked out of her nest. I was so worried they would all be dead and they were shipped eggs too, but so far excellent!!!
