Some chicks are bigger than others. I find the bigger the egg, the bigger the chick.

All the eggs are the same size, thats what is puzzling about it.

Maybe some shells are more porous so they lost more fluid during incubation

i have egg hatching from the 10th to the 17th cant wait to see what comes out cuz they r myster eggs i dont know who the father is cuz we moved and had to put all the chickens together in one coop untill got the other built. my baby could either have feather leg from my black standard cochin, fluffy cheeks from my americana or be a normal buff orpington cant wait

Hi,

Can I join I set 15 Serama eggs Friday 9/30 and I'm getting more in the mail tomorrow (they are late) I will set them Tuesday. On the 21st one batch will be at 21 days and one at 18 days. Unless the 1st batch hatches at 21 and the 2nd at 18 that would put them both hatching on the 21st. lol hatching math. I know it's not ideal to have 2 groups there is nothing I could do as one person shipped late and the other shipped FAST and I didn't want to let the eggs sit too long..... hopefully I will hatch some serama's to go with the 7 I hatched 6 weeks ago. In between I had a bad hatch only one hatched and it had a bum leg and didn't make it.

This has been a very enjoyable thread to read and knowledgeble.

I'm using a still air incubator right now I have 100.2 just above egg level and 39% humidity. I'm not gonna touch a thing till I put the other eggs in Tuesday. Friday I'll candle the 1sst group.

Hey ya'll! I candled my eggs today. It is day 6 and I couldn't wait any longer. I am seriously questioning my abilities, but I can see development in 3, and movement in 1. 1 appears clear, and all the others appear to have blood rings. That is out of 10 eggs. I am very discouraged by those numbers, but I am leaving them all in there for now, just in case I am wrong.
