And I have pictures of the little critters now. Their moms are EEs and their dad is a silkie.

Last night when I went to shut the coop I was greeted with this.

And today the others all hatched. They are currently inside for the moment so I could give some food.

How eggciting! Congrats on all the beautiful fluff butts running around.

Two of the eggs I have in the bator are EE mom and Silkie dad. I was curious on how the chickies would look and thanks to Hinotori, I can get a sneak peak at what mine will look like if they hatch!

If your doing the dry incubation it should be between 30-40 first 18 days, then 50-70 during lock down. I will try to keep my humidity around 55-60 during lock down. I'm new to incubating so please correct me if I'm wrong.

Sorry stephanie about your loss

Wise, not old

I think this is an awesome thread with some great people and tales. I have learned a lot and I still am, as many of you are.

Thanks for letting me be a part of this!

I found a site called Shekhinah Golden Dove. They have a great selection and she's a fellow homeschool mom. If for nothing else check it out b/c it is really great.
They sell hatching eggs of All kinds for really good prices!

My humidity is between 65% and 70% and my temp is roughly 100f.
Well better get back to bator watching, glad I did all my other animal care before I came inside to check it, otherwise I would have had 3 horses, 2 cats, a dog, a sheep, 13 hens and 17 fluffy butts all thinking I'd disappeared! And the husband? Yeah I vaigely remember what he looks like

Funny story actually, my dear hubby listens to my chicken talk only because I listen to his golf talk . . . he is a mad horse racing man and the other day he called me up to tell me to go and back a horse at Murray Bridge, it was number 3 in the last race. I asked what its name was and he said I would have to look it up, so I did - its name was Candle! He obviously didnt really want me to put money on it, he just wanted to let me know he has been taking bits and pieces of my chicken talk in, I really think I have been slowly brainwashing him!
